BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 12, 2020) – On Sunday, Aurelio Garcia Sr., 70, was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Mount Vernon Avenue and Niles Street.
 
Later reports claim that the suspect responsible for the hit-and-run, Joshua Reyes, came forward at BPD.
 
The fatal accident occurred at 4:10 a.m., when the pedestrian was struck by a car at the intersection of Mount Vernon Avenue and Niles Street, according to CHP.
 
Later in the week, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the identity of the pedestrian as Aurelio Garcia Sr.
 
No other information was readily available at this moment on the deadly hit-and-run.
 
The incident is still under investigation.
