Injury Reported in Fatal Traffic Accident near Cobalt Way
Citrus Heights, CA (January 23, 2023) On Sunday evening, a pedestrian crash on Auburn Boulevard killed 2 people and injured 1 driver.
Reports say that the fatal traffic accident happened at around 7:45 p.m. near Cobalt Way.
Sacramento Metro Fire says that a vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian then swerved into the traffic lane and collided head-on with another vehicle.
Officials pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene, while both drivers sustained injuries. Paramedics transported both injured drivers to a hospital.
Officials say that the driver hit head-on died at the hospital, while the driver that struck the pedestrian suffered “mild to moderate injuries.”
Authorities say that speed played a factor in the traffic accident. Citrus Heights Police are investigating the probable cause of the fatal crash and have not released additional details at this time.
