Driver Hospitalized after Collision with Pickup Truck near Business Park Way

 
MERCED, CA (November 15, 2018) – An Atwater woman was injured early Thursday evening following a two-vehicle collision on Santa Fe Drive. The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed to the public.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Business Park Way, shortly after 5:00 PM. For unknown reasons, an eastbound white Chevrolet Equinox turned left and collided with a westbound red Ford F-150.
 
The driver of the Equinox, described as a woman in her 50s, was transported to Mercy Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Meanwhile, her two passengers received treatment at the site of the crash. It is unknown whether or not the Ford driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and to identify possible contributing factors. No arrests have been made, and neither drugs nor alcohol is believed to have played a role in the incident. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
