FORTUNA, CA (September 20, 2023) – Saturday morning, Ashley Hipol sustained injuries in a crippling pedestrian crash on US-101 near Palmer Boulevard.

The incident happened at around 5:57 a.m. on southbound US-101, south of Palmer Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound vehicle struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders rushed the victim to a hospital with major injuries.
