ARVIN, CA – One Killed in Semi Truck and Car Crash on 5 Freeway near Laval Road

Collision Between Semi Truck and Sedan on 5 Freeway in Arvin Ends in Fatality

ARVIN, CA (November 22, 2018) – At least one person was killed following a traffic collision with a semi truck Thursday night in Arvin.

The collision happened around 6:09 p.m. on northbound 5 Freeway near Laval Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an unknown sedan was recklessly driving on the freeway when it collided with a gas tanker truck. Another vehicle, a red Volkswagen, reportedly pulled to the right shoulder, possibly damaged from debris.

Firefighters responded to the scene along with emergency crews and found at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.

The sedan sustained major front-end damage and was towed away for evidence.

The incident is still on active investigation while the authorities are putting the pieces together.
