Arturo Martinez Gonzalez and 3 others killed in Tragic Crash on I-20 [Mesquite, TX]

Mesquite, TX (January 2, 2025) On 47-year-old Arturo Martinez Gonzalez and 3 other men were killed in a horrific crash on I-20.

According to authorities, the fatal incident happened at around 2 a.m. on Interstate 20.

Reports say that the tragic crash on Interstate 20 claimed the lives of four individuals.

Authorities say that an SUV pulled over near FM 741 due to a flat tire. Four people were assisting with the tire change when 35-year-old Basilio Mares Ortiz veered off the roadway and struck them and the SUV. Ortiz’s vehicle then continued into a ditch.

The victims, all from Terrell, Texas, were identified as Gonzalez, 19-year-old Anthony Hernandez, 19-year-old Mario Guajardo De La Paz, and a 15-year-old boy. Tragically, all four died at the scene.

Authorities arrested Ortiz and charged him with four counts of intoxication manslaughter.
