1 Dead in Tucson Pedestrian Crash on Broadway Boulevard

 
TUCSON, AZ (July 28, 2020) – Authorities identified the victim of the July 21 pedestrian accident on Broadway Boulevard as Arturo Barrio Jr.
 
According to the Tucson Police Department, the crash occurred just before 10:00 p.m. on Broadway Boulevard and Swan Road.
 
42-year-old Arturo Felipe Barrio Jr. was crossing in a crosswalk on Swan Road. As he crossed against the traffic signal, a northbound Jeep hit him.
 
Afterward, the Jeep driver stopped immediately and stayed at the scene to help with the investigation. Meanwhile, a DUI officer found out that the driver didn’t suffer from impairment during the crash. They also ruled out speed as a factor in the crash.
 
The authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash. At this time, they haven’t issued any charges or citations.
