ALHAMBRA, CA (June 25, 2020) – Early Sunday afternoon, CHP officer Armando Portillo suffered injuries in a chain-reaction crash on 10 Freeway.
 
According to reports, the CHP officer from Kern County sustained injuries in the crash at around 1:25 p.m. Moreover, the incident took place as Armando Portillo stood on the westbound 10 Freeway near the Monterey Park border.
 
Reports revealed that Portillo parked his car behind a BMW. Then, he stood on the right shoulder. Meanwhile, another car made a sudden lane change. As a result, a Toyota RAV4 was cut off. Furthermore, the Toyota then veered to the right until it struck the officer’s car.
 
Afterward, the SUV crashed into the BMW and Portillo was struck.
