40-Year-Old Rancho Palos Verdes Man Fatally Injured in Solo-Vehicle Collision near 25th Street

 
SAN PEDRO, CA (August 21, 2018) – A man was killed Tuesday evening after a rollover crash on Western Avenue. The victim was later identified as 40-year-old Anthony Steven Holmes of Rancho Palos Verdes.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 6:47 PM in the 2500 block of Western, near 25th Street.
 
A report from the Los Angeles Fire Department said that Holmes lost control of his Bentley, causing it to roll over and crash into a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
 
He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. A male passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries for treatment and evaluation. His name and current medical condition were not immediately disclosed.
 
Investigators said speed may have been a factor in the crash, but it is unclear at this time if drugs and alcohol played a part. No additional information has been released to the public, as officials continue to investigate.
