Anthony Cobarrubia Dead after Escalon Reckless Driving Accident

ESCALON, CA (March 28, 2019) – One man from Tracy sustained fatal injuries following a reckless driving collision on Monday, March 18.

The crash that occurred at around 2:45 p.m. in Escalon resulted in the death of 60-year-old Anthony Cobarrubia.

According to the CHP report, a white 2005 GMC driven by Cobarrubia was moving southbound on Dodds Road. A witness driving northbound on Dodds Road noticed that the GMC is moving recklessly in both northbound and southbound traffic lanes at a speed about 100 miles per hour. The witness drove off the roadway to prevent a crash with the GMC.

The report shows that the GMC failed to stop at the stop sign at Mariposa Road. Then it crossed the intersection and lost control and drive off the west side of the roadway for several hundred feet. After that, the GMC began to rotate in a counterclockwise direction as it crossed both lanes of Dodds Road, leaving the roadway on the east side. Subsequently, it crossed over a drainage ditch and slammed into a large pile of pelletized animal feed on a local dairy. As a result, the GMC rolled over and Cobarrubia was partially thrown off the vehicle.

Authorities said that he wore a seatbelt but sustained major injuries and died at the scene.

In light of this devastating news, our firm would like to send our heartfelt sympathies to the loved ones of Anthony Cobarrubia.
