Police Arrest Anthony Apodaca in Stockton DUI Crash on 5 Freeway

Stockton, CA (January 29, 2021) – On Thursday, police arrested 39-year-old Anthony Apodaca of Lathrop in a DUI crash on Interstate 5.

The road accident took place at about 7:10 a.m. north of State Route 4.

A CHP officer was helping a driver with their vehicle along the freeway.

At the same time, Apodaca was driving a vehicle that crashed with another vehicle. He then lost control of his vehicle.

As a result, Apodaca struck the officer, the person who was on the side of the road, and another vehicle.

Immediately, rescuers took the officer and the driver to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities arrested Apodaca on suspicion of DUI.

Police closed all lanes of the freeway as they investigated the incident. Traffic was diverted to State Route 4.

This is an important reminder to never drink and drive. Instead, order an Uber or Lyft when inebriated.
