Two Hospitalized After Three-Vehicle Crash on State Route 17 Near Moses Lake
Moses Lake, WA (June 15, 2025) – 58-year-old Angela Hernandez Espinosa of Moses Lake and 72-year-old Serafin Corona of Warden were rushed to the hospital after a 3-car crash on SR 17.
According to authorities, the frightening crash happened on Friday evening at around 5:22 p.m. on State Route 17, nine miles south of Moses Lake near milepost 41.
Reports say that 17-year-old Gideon E. Tuller of Moses Lake reportedly failed to slow down for an emergency vehicle on SR 17, causing a three-vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital.
All three vehicles were traveling southbound when two of them slowed for a northbound emergency vehicle with active lights and sirens.
Authorities say that Tuller of Moses Lake, driving a 2006 Honda Accord, struck the car in front of him, pushing it into a third vehicle.
The impact caused the second vehicle, driven by Corona to veer into a ditch on the northbound side of the highway.
Paramedics transported Corona and Espinosa, a passenger in the third vehicle, to Samaritan Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Tuller and his two teenage passengers, who wore seatbelts, were uninjured.
The Washington State Patrol cited Tuller for following too closely.
Authorities confirmed no drugs or alcohol were involved, and all vehicles sustained damage, with Tuller’s Honda Accord declared totaled. The highway remained open as emergency responders cleared the scene.
