Angel Palacio Found, Arrested Following Major-Injury Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at K and Shasta Streets

MOJAVE, CA (January 20, 2020)—A hit-and-run pedestrian crash at K and Shasta streets Thursday left a man critically injured and the suspected driver arrested.

Deputies reported to the scene after receiving word of a pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, officers found no sign of the motorist involved, but of only the pedestrian who sustained major injuries.

Investigators acquired a possible address in Lancaster of the suspect’s whereabouts. Soon after, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped a vehicle and arrested its driver—44-year-old Angel Palacio.

Officers booked him into a Mojave jail on charges of attempted murder and hit-and-run resulting in injury. Deputies believe that Palacio deliberately struck the victim for unknown reasons.

The victim, on the other hand, is recovering and remains in critical condition.

Anyone with insight into this crash should contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at 861-3110 or the Secret Witness Line at 322-4040.

Leaving the scene of a car accident is no way to handle the circumstances of the crash. Although it’s nerve-racking, remain calm and wait for officers to arrive to determine the next steps. You can face more critical consequences when you leave a car accident scene. You’ll find it to be more stressful and to your disadvantage much later.
