Quincy Boy Angel Alvarez Gonzalez Dies in Crash on Interstate 5

 
Santa Nella, CA (April 07, 2021) – On Friday, 8-year-old Angel Alvarez Gonzalez of Quincy, WA, died in a tragic two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
 
The fatal accident took place at about 8 p.m. on the northbound lanes, wherein a 2003 Toyota Camry and a 2018 Toyota 4Runner were involved.
 
Apparently, Guillermina Gonzalez of Quincy drove the Camry southbound on the Number 2 lanes.
 
Moreover, her passengers included three juveniles, and she drove at about 70 mph.
 
Later, she lost control of the vehicle, before it swerved into the median.
 
Then, her vehicle traveled through the northbound lanes directly into the path of a 4Runner.
 
The 4Runner was driven by 37-year-old Luis Castillo, and 42-year-old passenger Maria Ruiz, both of Oakland.
 
As a result, the front of the 4Runner crashed with the right side of the Camry.
 
Subsequently, the Camry traveled off the east edge of the roadway.
 
Gonzalez’s 8-year-old boy passenger, Angel Alvarez Gonzalez, was seated in the right rear of the vehicle.
 
Unfortunately, he suffered fatal injuries in the accident.
 
Shortly after, paramedics pronounced him dead at the Santa Nella scene.
 
Similarly, her other two passengers, a 5-year-old boy, and a 2-year-old girl, were not properly restrained. Thus, they were thrown from the vehicle.
 
Immediately, rescuers rushed the 2-year-old to Valley Children’s Hospital and the 5-year-old to Children’s Hospital-San Jose. Ultimately, both suffered major injuries.
 
On the other hand, rescuers rushed Guillermina Gonzalez to Doctor’s Medical Center with moderate injuries, while both Castillo and Ruiz were rushed to Emanuel Medical Center with minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, authorities said neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the accident.
