1 Killed in Lake Tahoe DUI Accident on State Route 28 near Sahara Drive

 
LAKE TAHOE, CA (September 28, 2022) – Monday night, authorities arrested Andrew Phillips after a fatal crash on State Route 28 near Sahara Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 10:44 p.m. Also, the collision occurred on State Route 28 near Sahara Drive.
 
Reports revealed that a westbound 2021 Subaru Forester struck a 56-year-old highway worker, who was directing the traffic in the area. Then, the vehicle continued driving westbound where it collided with a dump truck and an excavator.
 
Moreover, responders confirmed that the highway worker died in the collision. Also, the dump truck and excavator drivers were not hurt in the crash.
 
Furthermore, officers arrested and booked the suspect driver, 36-year-old Andrew Phillips, at Nevada County Sheriff’s Station for DUI.
 
Meanwhile, the incident remained under investigation.
