Mine Bus And Tractor-Trailer Involved in Fatal Crash Near Carlin
CARLIN, NV (August 24, 2019) – Andrew Nash and Rocky Witt died in a crash on Nevada 766 on Saturday.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened about six miles north of Carlin in Eureka County. Based on a report from the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal incident involved a Pilot Thomas tractor-trailer carrying ore and a bus carrying mine workers. The truck as going south in a curve when it crossed over the center line and crashed into the bus head-on.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the truck driver as Nash, 29, of Spring Creek. In addition, authorities identified the bus passenger as Witt, 62, of Spring Creek.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision. No further information has been released to the public as the investigation continues.
