Andrew Holmes Injured after 2 Pickup Trucks Collide in Glenn County

GLENN COUNTY, CA (May 23, 2019) – A 23-year-old passenger sustained injuries in a 2-vehicle crash on County Road M Saturday morning. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved two pickup trucks. It occurred near County Road 20 at around 11:55 a.m.

38-year-old Francisco Villarreal of Orland was driving a Ford pickup south on County Road, M north of County Road 20 at approximately 45 mph. Meantime, 52-year-old Armando Suarez of Orland was driving also a Ford pickup truck north on County Road M at approximately 45 mph.

Villarreal reportedly took his eyes off the road to grab something. When he looked up, he was partially in the northbound lane. He steered his truck to the right and then steered back to the left. However, Villareal’s truck truck entered Suarez’s lane. Suarez steered his truck to prevent a collision. As a result, he jack-knifed his pickup and the trailer he was towing.

Villareal’s truck collided with the jack-knifed trailer after he steered his truck to the left. Subsequently, Villarreal’s truck went off the road’s edge and rolled over.

Each of the trucks carried one passenger. 23-year-old Andrew Holmes of Orland was in Suarez’s truck, while a 5-year-old boy was in Villarreal’s truck. An ambulance transported Holmes to Enloe Medical Center as he complained of pain in his neck and back.
