Andreas Kooi Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Foothill Boulevard [San Luis Obispo, CA]

San Luis Obispo, CA (August 06, 2021) – Earlier today, Andreas Kooi, 23-year-old San Luis Obispo resident suffered injuries in a bicycle crash on Foothill Boulevard.

The traffic crash happened at about 12:38 a.m. at the intersection of Broad Street.

A 17-year-old girl was westbound on Foothill Boulevard when she struck Kooi near the intersection.

Rescuers took Kooi to a hospital for incurring injuries from the incident.

Investigating officers said there were at least two passengers in the driver’s vehicle during the accident.

The driver, also a San Luis Obispo resident fled the scene. However, two of her passengers went back to the scene and gave statements to the authorities.

Later at 2 a.m., residents on Rockview Place reported a car alarm that was going off. When the authorities, they found the suspect’s car parked in the roadway. It has a damage that matched the hit and run.

Police found her walking through the neighborhood.

Finally, the officers took her into custody and charged her with a hit and run with injury and a felony DUI with injury.
