Andrea Dark Dead Following DUI Accident on El Rancho Drive

 
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA (January 12, 2021) – Sunday night, 28-year-old Andrea Dark died, while Jesse Lemol Vong was arrested in a crash on El Rancho Drive near Highway 17.
 
At about 9:45 p.m., a resident in the 1300 block of El Rancho Drive called the authorities to report a loud crash.
 
Then, the witness discovered a “very mangled” 2013 Volkswagen Golf on its roof near a tree across the road. The incident involved only one vehicle.
 
As a result of the crash, the 28-year-old female passenger, Ms. Dark of San Jose, died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old male driver from San Jose sustained major injuries. Responders took him to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
 
Before being released from the hospital, the authorities arrested Jesse Lemol Vong on suspicion of felony driving under the influence (DUI).
 
The CHP revealed that the driver had been heading south on El Rancho Drive at high speed.
 
Then, he crashed into a utility pole, went up an embankment, and struck a tree. Afterward, the vehicle overturned and landed on its roof on the road.
 
Due to the crash, the authorities shut down both lanes of El Rancho Drive. The lanes remained close for more than five hours while crews removed the tree and fixed the power lines.
