1 Person Dead in Vina Auto Accident near Tehama Vina Road and Highway 99

VINA, CA (October 17, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, authorities arrested Andre Tucker after a fatal DUI crash near Tehama Vina Road and Highway 99.

The incident happened at around 1:48 p.m. near Tehama Vina Road, near Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound 1997 Ford Expedition traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, veered into the northbound lane, and collided with a 2015 Honda Accord. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Ford to collide head-on with a northbound 2012 Toyota Prius.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 22-year-old female driver of the Toyota, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the Honda, identified as 56-year-old Mima Rodriguez, to Enloe Medical Center with minor injuries.

Furthermore, authorities arrested the driver of the Ford, identified as 43-year-old Tucker of Chico, on suspicion of DUI.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
