Amparo Garcia Dies in Single-Vehicle Wreck at Pierce Street and Foothill Boulevard

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 27, 2018) – A woman was killed when the car in which she was an occupant crashed into a block wall at Pierce Street and Foothill Boulevard Saturday afternoon.
 
Amparo Garcia was identified as the fatal victim in the 3:15 p.m. crash. Garcia was in a vehicle driven by an unidentified person when the car crashed into a block wall.
 
Both Garcia and the driver were hospitalized in the crash, but Garcia died moments later. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and believe a floor mat lodged underneath the pedal prevented the driver from stopping the car in time.
