8 Vehicles Involved in Carson City Traffic Accident on West Fifth Street
CARSON CITY, NV (April 11, 2021) – Friday afternoon, authorities arrested Amber Monson after a police chase ended in a crash on West Fifth Street.
According to Carson City Sheriff’s Office, at around 3:00 p.m., a Carson City deputy saw a state-owned car. Moreover, the vehicle was reported stolen from the Reno area on April 9. Thus, the deputy turned his car to stop the vehicle but the driver sped away towards a congested neighborhood.
Moreover, pursuing officers almost managed to stop the suspect vehicle at the extreme west side of Carson. However, the driver rammed the stolen vehicle into a parked car and a police mobile to escape.
Then, the vehicle continued driving towards a school zone and crashed head-on with another sheriff’s vehicle at the 700 block of West Fifth Street. Afterward, it crashed with a deputy’s SUV on the opposite side of the roadway.
Furthermore, authorities said that the crash damaged a total of eight vehicles, including the stolen vehicle.
Also, authorities arrested the 31-year-old suspect Amber Monson after being checked for injuries at Carson Tahoe Hospital.
Reports revealed that Monson will face five counts of battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, eluding police with death or bodily harm, and child endangerment.
Officers confirmed that Monson is being held at $30,000 bail.
May this incident be a reminder for all motorists to drive responsibly. Moreover, drivers should also keep in mind that distracted driving, speeding, and driving inebriated will lead to dangerous road accidents.
