Alonso Moreno Arrested in Fatal DUI Crash on Franklin Boulevard [Sacramento, CA]

Motorcyclist Killed, Police Arrest Alonso Gonzalez Moreno for Franklin Boulevard DUI Accident

 
Sacramento, CA (February 22, 2021) – On Saturday, police arrested 23-year-old Alonso Moreno of Sacramento in a fatal DUI crash on Franklin Boulevard.
 
Moreover, the fatal South Sacramento accident took place before 10:30 p.m. on a northbound lane of the boulevard.
 
Moreno was driving a Chevy Tahoe between 80-90 miles per hour approaching Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
 
Subsequently, he failed to stop for a red light, and struck a motorcyclist who was about to turn onto Franklin Boulevard.
 
Unfortunately, the unidentified motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and onto a sidewalk. Rescuers pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
On the other hand, Moreno was not injured in the accident, and remained at the crash scene to cooperate with the officers.
 
Consequently, Moreno told the officers he was driving home from picking up food. Also, he admitted he drank alcohol earlier in the evening.
 
As a result, officers arrested him. They booked him into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of a DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
Meanwhile, authorities took the body of the deceased motorcyclist to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. They will release his identity once the next of kin was notified.
