Three Victims Injured as Two Vehicles Collide near Red Hill Avenue
TUSTIN, CA (November 9, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized after a two-car crash on northbound 5 Freeway, late Friday night. The victims were identified as Alondra Avendano Cruz, Leticia Roldon Saldivar and a third unknown victim.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 11:47 PM, near the Red Hill Avenue off-ramp. Based on their report, two vehicles were recovered at the scene. Due to impact of the crash, one of the cars spun out of the lanes and landed on the wrong way lanes of the highway. The parties were identified as a gray 4-door 2017 Toyota Corolla and a black 4-door 2008 Toyota Camry.
The paramedics were requested for rescue. Avendano Cruz was sent to OC Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, while Roldon Saldivar and the third victim suffered major injuries and were taken to the same hospital. The victims’ age and cities of residence were not yet known.
Debris was seen scattered at the scene. A clearing operation was performed to clean and clear the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine liabilities. Additional information will be released to the public, once it is available.
