Passenger Alma Olivares Identified as Fatality in Contra Costa Crash on Highway 4

 
MARTINEZ, CA (July 8, 2020) – On Monday night, Alma Olivares died in a car accident on Highway 4 in Martinez, CHP officials revealed.
 
According to reports, the crash occurred at about 9:40 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4, just east of Cummings Skyway.
 
Furthermore, they revealed that a 2014 Jeep Laredo traveled east. However, for reasons still unidentified, the vehicle drove off the road and crashed into a tree.
 
When emergency crews came to the scene, they located two people inside the vehicle. The female passenger sustained fatal injuries. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old male driver was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
Furthermore, the coroner’s office later identified the deceased passenger as 18-year-old Alma Olivares of Pittsburg.
 
At this time, the police haven’t confirmed whether speed, drugs or alcohol caused the crash.
 
CHP officials continue to investigate the deadly incident.
