US 287 Fatal Crash Results in Injuries
Donley County, TX (December 19, 2023) – 60-year-old Yolanda Castillo and 77-year-old Alicia Flores, both from Memphis, TX, were killed in a US 287 collision Sunday morning.
The collision happened around 12:32 a.m. on the eastbound freeway approximately three miles east of Clarendon.
Officers said a 2013 Dodge Ram was driving eastbound when it left the roadway and struck a traffic sign.
Afterward, the vehicle traveled back onto the freeway and drove in the outside lane.
At the same time, a 2013 Nissan Altima failed to control its speed and rear-ended the pickup which drove into the south ditch.
The Altima stopped at a stop against a barbed wire fence.
Moreover, the pickup driver, 32-year-old Humberto Martinez of Memphis, Texas was transported to BSA with serious injuries.
The car driver, 43-year-old Michael Flores of Memphis, Texas was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries.
One of the passengers in the Altima, Yolanda Castillo, Texas was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries, but she later died.
Alicia Flores was another passenger in the car. She was declared deceased at the scene.
Officers are investigating.
