Alfredo Dominguez Killed in Emory Road DUI Collision [El Paso, TX]

Officers Arrest Cody Lesher in El Paso Fatal Collision

El Paso, TX (June 21, 2023) – On Friday, Alfredo Dominguez, 35, of El Paso, and his dog, were killed following an Emory Road DUI collision.

Investigation reveals that Cody Lesher, 32, was driving a southbound 2015 Maserati in the 4600 block area when he lost control and struck a gas meter. The vehicle rolled over and struck Dominguez and his dog as they were both walking northbound on the shoulder.

Maserati stopped at about 100 yards away and witnesses told the authorities that Lesher exited the vehicle through the driver’s side and walked fast northbound on the 4600 block area. He then turned back and walked southbound on Emory Lane

Those who witnessed the incident said Lesher entered the backyard of a nearby residence looking for a place to hide. He then exited the backyard and that is when the police arrested him at the corner of Emory Road and Hermosa Lane.

The paramedics transported Lesher to a local hospital where he told the authorities that he arrived at a bar with another individual at around 5 p.m. and left at around 6:30 p.m. Lesher said during the investigation that the individual was driving at the time of the collision.

Apparently, he exited the vehicle and went to the passenger’s side. The officer asked him why he would go to the passenger’s side if he wasn’t driving at the time of the collision. Lesher replied he meant to say the driver’s side.

Moreover, the officer said Lesher had a mark on his left shoulder which was consistent with the seat belt crossing from the left shoulder down to the right waist as if he was on the driver’s side.

Finally, officers arrested Lesher and charged him with intoxication manslaughter, and an accident involving personal injury.
