24-Year-Old Alexis Zarate Arrested in Multiple Crashes on Road 26

Fresno, CA (January 22, 2021) – On Thursday, police arrested 24-year-old Alexis Zarate in multiple crashes on Road 26.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to a hit-and-run report at around 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue 17.

Apparently, a black Nissan pulled in front of a motorcyclist on southbound Road 26 and hit him.

Later on, the same vehicle struck a stopped vehicle on Owens Street in Madera.

Then, the Nissan was later spotted by witnesses at the Love’s truck stop along Highway 99 and fled away from officers.

Zarate struck a Madera County sheriff’s vehicle at Road 27 and Avenue 17.

“It seems the suspect vehicle ended up running a stop sign while the sheriff’s deputy was still continuing northbound on Road 27,” said CHP Officer Justin Foraker.

Luckily, the deputy was not injured from the incident.

Similarly, responders took the motorcyclist from the first crash to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Moreover, authorities took Zarate to the hospital to be checked for driving under the influence. They located two open beers in the center console of the Nissan.

Zarate faces several charges, including felony hit-and-run.

Never drink and drive.

How To Proceed From Crash

While driving is essential for many to move about in their lives, it is one of the most dangerous daily maneuvers. Thus, it is therefore important to know how to proceed in case you find yourself involved in a traffic collision.

On the AAA Foundation Web site, chief executive officer Peter Kissinger repeatedly labeled the epidemic of motor vehicle-related accidents a “public health crisis.”

Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious car accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by an experienced lawyer. A lawyer will make sure victims are not cheated of the proper compensation they are owed.
