1 Hospitalized and 1 Detained in Reno Pedestrian Accident
RENO, NV (August 6, 2019) – A pedestrian sustained injuries while authorities arrested one person following an accident on August 3 on Fourth Street.
Responders transported the pedestrian to Renown Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
38-year-old Alexis Anastassatos went into the Washoe County jail on charges of felony DUI causing substantial injury. In addition, Anastassatos is charged with failure to use due care. He stayed in jail Sunday morning.
According to reports, the 50-year-old woman walked across the street mid-block near West Fourth Street and Stoker Avenue when Anastassatos drove west and struck her.
The incident shut down West Fourth Street until around 1:30 a.m.
Police did not release any other information at this time. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact detectives at 775-334-2141.
