15-Year-Old Girl Fatally Injured after Hit by Car near West Schulte Road
TRACY, CA (April 21, 2018) – A teenage girl was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, on South Macarthur Drive, early Saturday. The young victim was identified as 15-year-old Alexia Rubio of Tracy.
According to reports, the teenager was walking with a group of friends on S Macarthur near West Schulte Road, when a vehicle swerved and struck her before fleeing from the scene. Emergency personnel arrived in the area of the collision near the Tracy Public Cemetery and pronounced the Rubio dead at the scene.
A makeshift memorial was made by close family and friends in the area where the accident took place. A GoFundMe page was set up to help the Alexia’s family with funeral expenses.
There is currently no description of the hit-and-run driver, but the vehicle involved is believed to be a white, newer-model four-door sedan, with possible front-end damage and a missing side-view mirror. Officials from the Tracy Police Department are asking for the public’s help to find the hit-and-run driver and the vehicle involved in this tragic accident.
