Alexander Brewer Detained, 1 Killed in Las Vegas Car Accident
LAS VEGAS, NV (May 24, 2019) – A person died while authorities arrested another person in a DUI car collision on Preakness Pass.
Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Metropolitan police considered impairment as a factor in the crash on May 22.
Authorities came to the scene around 12:42 a.m. on Preakness Pass and Churchill Downs Drive, near South Fort Apache Road and West Sahara Avenue.
According to police, 19-year-oldAlexander Brewer, the driver of a 2018 Lincoln MKX, drove at a high-speed west on Preakness. Meanwhile. the 18-year-old male driver of a 2016 Ford Fusion tried to make a left turn onto Churchill Downs.
The two vehicles met in the intersection and the Lincoln hit the Fusion’s driver side. Medics transported the Fusion driver to University Medical Center with serious injuries. However, a medical staff later pronounced him dead.
Furthermore, medics also transported Brewer to UMC. Upon release, police booked him on suspicion of DUI.
The Peccole Ranch neighborhood remained closed for several hours during the investigation.
