22-Year-Old CSULB Student Identified as Hit-and-Run Victim near Tivoli Drive
LONG BEACH, CA (October 28, 2018) – A woman was killed early Sunday morning following a hit-and-run collision near Tivoli Drive. The victim was later identified as 22-year-old Alena Rey Gretencord, a resident of Anaheim.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 1:30 AM. Gretencord was walking on the center median of 2nd Street when she fell into the number one lane. A pickup truck was then seen stopping before continuing eastbound, colliding with the victim, and fleeing the scene.
Gretencord suffered critical injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment and medical evaluation. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead shortly before 3:00 AM.
Authorities described the suspect vehicle as a white Ford F-150, with a silver toolbox in the bed and possibly a company decal on the driver’s door.
