Constance Addison Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Yuba City
YUBA CITY, CA (October 7, 2019) – Authorities identified 13-year-old Alec Flores as the boy struck and killed by a DUI driver near Lyndsey Lane, Monday morning.
According to the Yuba City Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:00 AM. The victim was walking along Franklin Road when a vehicle struck him.
Emergency responders rushed the boy to a hospital with brain trauma. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to injuries and died the next day.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 36-year-old Constance Addison, did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Authorities also noted that she had three children in the car at the time of the crash.
A short time later, officers were able to locate and arrest Addison in front of her Yuba City home. She now faces charges for felony hit-and-run, child endangerment, felony driving under the influence causing injury, and gross vehicular manslaughter.
On October 8, Addison was released on bail from Sutter County Jail. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
