Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car on Riverside Drive near Joy Street

 
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (October 19, 2019) – A man was killed in a pedestrian crash Saturday evening in Lake Elsinore, authorities said.
 
The fatal incident happened around 8:45 p.m. in the 31000 block of Riverside Drive, near Joy Street.
 
According to reports, the pedestrian was crossing the intersection when a westbound Toyota Prius struck him. The driver stopped and called 911.
 
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities identified the man as Aldon Demara, 63, of Lake Elsinore.
 
The Prius driver, who was not hurt, was questioned by deputies but not arrested.
 
Officials temporarily closed the Riverside Drive between Joy and Lincoln streets for about three hours while they investigated the incident. The roadway was re-opened shortly before midnight.
