Aldagracia Cruz-Penaloza Killed in 405 Freeway Multi-Car Crash [Costa Mesa, CA]

Aldagracia Cruz-Penaloza Fatally Struck by Driver on 405 Freeway Near Fairview Road

 
COSTA MESA, CA (March 28, 2019) – A 42-year-old woman died Wednesday morning in a multi-car accident on the 405 Freeway near Fairview Road.
 
The incident unfolded around 4:45 a.m. when Aldagracia Cruz-Penaloza dodged injury from a previous two-vehicle accident.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, Cruz-Penaloza’s Toyota ended up in the No. 1 lane while the other vehicle ended up in the right shoulder. However, when Cruz-Penaloza and her passenger exited the car and stood behind the disabled Toyota, an Audi in the No. 1 lane struck her and her stalled car.
 
Due to the impact, the Toyota skidded to the No. 3 lane, where a Chevrolet struck the car. The 33-year-old Chevrolet driver from San Juan Capistrano suffered minor injuries while the Audi driver evaded injury.
 
Cruz-Penaloza’s 18-year-old passenger suffered unknown injuries and required hospitalization. However, Cruz-Penaloza did not survive and died at the scene.
 
CHP officers are investigating this devastating crash and urging witnesses to call them at 714-567-6000.
