41-Year-Old Jurupa Valley Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Bellegrave Avenue
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (May 26, 2018) – A man was killed Saturday evening after he was struck by a vehicle. The Riverside County Sherriff-Coroner identified the victim as 41-year-old Albert Zaragoza, a resident of Jurupa Valley.
According to the Jurupa Valley Police Department, they received reports about a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on Van Buren Boulevard across from Bellegrave Avenue, at around 10:30 PM. Responding officers found Zaragoza lying in the roadway after sustaining major injuries.
Bystanders and California Department of Forestry personnel attempted to aid the injured man with life-saving efforts, but Zaragoza died at the scene. The driver was reportedly uninjured and remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigators. Their identity was not immediately disclosed.
The Jurupa Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team is currently handling the investigation to determine the cause of the collision. So far, they have ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash.
