ATLANTA, MO (December 8, 2024) – Thursday night, an alarming two-vehicle crash on US Highway 63 injured one person.

The incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on US Highway 63.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a female driver fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a northbound pickup truck.

Moreover, a private vehicle transported a 54-year-old female passenger of the pickup to Northeast Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Furthermore, authorities said that the driver who fell asleep at the wheel is best described as a 61-year-old woman from Kirksville, Mo.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the MSHP continued to investigate the crash.
