MADERA, CA (June 19, 2023) – Saturday morning, an alarming hit-and-run crash on Road 26 near Mateo Way killed one person.
The incident happened at around 12:41 a.m. on Road 26 north of Mateo Way.
According to California Highway Patrol, an unidentified vehicle veered onto the east shoulder for still unknown reasons, struck a pedestrian then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.
Moreover, a passing motorist noticed the victim at around 7:38 a.m. and called 911. Then, paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
