1 Arrested in Newhall Auto Accident on Highway 14 and Oak Spring Canyon
NEWHALL, CA (May 26, 2023) – Last May 17, an alarming DUI crash on Highway 14 and Oak Springs Canyon injured 1 person.
The incident happened at around 12:54 a.m. on Highway 14 and Oak Springs Canyon.
According to reports, a man drove his Lexus north on Highway 14, said Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesman for CHP Newhall. Then, he didn’t stop in time and crashed into a BMW.
“During the investigation, it was determined (the man) was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was arrested,” Greengard added.
After the crash, one person suffered minor injuries which led to the felony allegation.
Officers arrested a 23-year-old Lancaster resident on suspicion of a felony charge of DUI causing injury.
Originally, the authorities set his bail at $100,000. By May 20, the authorities released him due to his recognizance.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
