Injuries Reported in Perris Vehicle Crash on Interstate 215 and Harley Knox Boulevard
PERRIS, CA (June 16, 2024) – Last June 8th, an alarming auto accident on Interstate 215 and Harley Knox Boulevard injured 2 people.
The incident occurred at 3:03 a.m. on Interstate 215 and Harley Knox Boulevard.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) Riverside and Cal Fire Riverside County swiftly responded to a series of accidents that began with a car veering off the freeway, crashing into a barrier between the freeway and railroad tracks.
According to CHP reports, two vehicles initially stopped to assist the driver of the crashed car.
Then, a fourth vehicle traveling south encountered the crash site. In an attempt to avoid the initial wreckage, this vehicle swerved around it but ended up colliding with one of the cars that had stopped to help.
The impact trapped the driver, who had to be extricated by emergency responders and was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A second individual in the truck that was struck by the fourth vehicle also suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. It was later determined that the driver of the initial vehicle was under the influence and was arrested at the scene.
While no other injuries were reported, the incident caused significant alarm among those who had stopped to render aid. Speed and alcohol were confirmed as contributing factors in the series of collisions.
The incident was handled by CHP and Riverside emergency services, with the investigation ongoing.
