Injuries Reported in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Highway 99 and California Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 17, 2024) – Saturday night, an alarming 2-vehicle crash on Highway 99 and California Avenue injured 1 person.
The incident involving a small sedan and a semi-truck occurred at about 9:40 p.m. on Highway 99, south of California Avenue.
The serious accident occurred on southbound Highway 99 when a sedan’s front end became lodged under the rear of a semi-truck. Then, the sedan reportedly caught fire at one point during the incident.
Meanwhile, a man inside the vehicle, whose arm was bleeding, was extracted after a window was broken. He was transported by ambulance to Kern Medical for treatment.
The accident caused a temporary closure of lanes on southbound Highway 99, which have since been reopened.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
