Fresno Man Afroz Ali Hit by Car in Fatal Accident on Highway 99

Madera County, CA (December 10, 2021) – Friday evening, Afroz Ali, 63, from Fresno died in a crash on Highway 99.

The fatal crash in Madera County happened at around 6:00 p.m. on December 10, south of Highway 152.

CHP said a Kia minivan was traveling northbound on Highway 99 south of Highway 152 when the driver, a man from Fresno, pulled to the right shoulder and stopped his vehicle.

Moreover,  the man got out and walked to the back of his vehicle when the driver of a Toyota pickup traveling northbound on Highway 99 crashed into him and then into the minivan.

The driver of the minivan died at the scene and two other occupants in the minivan were uninjured.

CHP added that the driver of the pickup, a man from Merced, sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Investigators said alcohol is not a suspected factor in the Madera County accident.

Further investigation into this fatal Highway 99 crash is underway.
