Antonia Ramirez Killed in Irwindale Bicycle Crash on Foothill Boulevard and Huntington Drive
IRWINDALE, CA (March 28, 2021) – Saturday, Antonia Ramirez, 22, died and authorities arrested Adrian Ortega for the fatal bicycle accident.
According to Sgt. Rudy Gatto of the Irwindale Police Department, the hit-and-run crash happened at around 1:21 a.m.
Moreover, it occurred in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Huntington Drive.
Furthermore, responders pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
Moreover, moments after the crash, authorities stopped a car on Francisquito Avenue and Sunset Avenue.
Subsequently, they found evidence linking the vehicle to the deadly hit-and-run crash in Irwindale.
As a result, authorities arrested 21-year-old Adrian Ortega of La Puente.
He was detained on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony drunk driving, and felony hit-and-run. Also, his bail was set to $100,000.
Meanwhile, the incident led to the closure of Foothill Boulevard/Huntington Drive between Irwindale Avenue and Encanto Parkway.
