Bethel Avenue Collision Kills 4-Year-Old Enrique Flores Jr.
Fresno County, CA (September 3, 2023) – On Friday morning, 27-year-old Adrian Gonzalez and his 4-year-old nephew, Enrique Flores Jr., were killed in a collision on Jefferson Avenue.
The fatal accident took place before 8 a.m. at the intersection with Bethel Avenue.
Officers said an eastbound Honda on Jefferson Avenue drove through a stop sign.
The car was struck by an oncoming Chevy SUV driven by a 45-year-old woman on Bethel Avenue which has the right-of-way at the intersection.
Afterward, both of the vehicles veered off the roadway and into a vineyard.
A witness stopped to help, but Gonzalez and Flores Jr. died in the Honda.
Investigating officers said Flores Jr. was not in a child restraint seat, booster seat, or seat belt when the collision happened.
Moreover, six other Chevy passengers were transported to the hospital.
Officers are investigating.
