11-Year-Old Girl Dies in Head-On Crash near Olive Avenue
El Mirage, AZ (July 8, 2022) On Wednesday, police arrested 28-year-old Adrian Ballesteros after a fatal collision on El Mirage Road.
El Mirage police say that an 11-year-old girl died in a head-on crash between a pickup truck and a passenger car near Olive Avenue.
Additionally, paramedics transported a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl, and a 53-year-old female driver to the hospital. All were occupants of the passenger car.
Investigation says that Ballesteros was arguing with the female driver, his girlfriend, before the crash. Apparently, Ballesteros pulled on the steering wheel, causing his girlfriend to lose control of the pickup.
The pickup veered across the median and struck the passenger vehicle head-on. The impact caused the pickup to roll over at least once.
Ballesteros and his girlfriend sustained minor injuries and remained at the scene.
Police arrested Adrian Ballesteros and charged him with manslaughter and endangerment.
