Santa Maria Police Investigates Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision near Bunny Avenue
Santa Maria, CA (March 21, 2023) On Monday evening, Santa Maria Police arrested 48-year-old Adolfo Zafra Dominguez after a hit-and-run crash on Broadway.
According to SMPD, the vehicle-pedestrian collision happened at around 7:49 p.m. near Bunny Avenue and Broadway.
Reports say that the crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. Authorities say that a vehicle coming out of a parking lot struck a man walking on the sidewalk.
Officials say that the vehicle dragged the man for several feet, then ran over the pedestrian, then fled the scene afterward.
Paramedics sustained moderate injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities were able to locate the suspect driver, later identified as Santa Maria resident, Adolfo Zafra Dominguez, at a trailer park.
Police arrested and booked Zafra into the Santa Barbara North County Jail on suspicion of felony hit and run and driving without a license.
