Adolfo Villegas of Hollister Dies in Head-On Crash on Highway 156 [Hollister, CA]

Hollister, CA (December 21, 2021) – On December 17, 53-year-old Hollister resident Adolfo Villegas dies in a head-on crash on Highway 56.

The accident happened at around 7 p.m. east of San Felipe Road.

 Officers said 26-year-old John Canes, also of Hollister, was driving a westbound Chevrolet Silverado at 60 miles per hour

Apparently, he veered to the left over the solid double yellow lines and the vehicle crashed with Villegas, who was driving eastbound in a Nissan Frontier at a minimum of 55 miles per hour.

Villegas died in this crash and Canes sustained minor injuries.

Canes suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, officers said alcohol and drugs are not suspected as the cause of the collision.
