Abraham Cortez-Rodriguez Killed and 1 Hospitalized in Perris Accident on Highway 74 near Ellis Avenue

 
PERRIS, CA (March 14, 2021) – Saturday, Abraham Cortez-Rodriguez, 26, died and a person sustained injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 74.
 
According to CHP, the incident occurred at around 5:45 a.m., on Highway 74, just west of Ellis Avenue.
 
Reports revealed that a 2004 Honda Accord travelled the wrong way on the westbound lane of Highway 74.
 
As a result, it struck a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder traveling at around 60 mph.
 
Furthermore, authorities said that both drivers attempted to avoid the collision. However, the right front end of their vehicles collided.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced Lake Elsinore man Abraham Cortez-Rodriguez dead at the scene.
 
Additionally, paramedics rushed the 52-year-old Lake Elsinore man driving the Pathfinder to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
 
A third person refused to be transported to a hospital, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department added.
 
Meanwhile, CHP said that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
 
CHP believes that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident. The man deceased is suspected to have been under the influence.
