Pedestrian Hospitalized after Crash on Greenfield Drive in East County

East County, CA (March 23, 2023) – Tuesday night, an 82-year-old man sustained injuries in a crash on Greenfield Drive.

The crash on Greenfield Drive in East County happened at about 7:20 p.m. on March 21.

CHP said the man was struck while crossing Greenfield Drive west of Oro Street. He was reportedly crossed in front of a westbound Nissan Altima driven by a 42-year-old woman. 

The driver said she was not able to see the man.

While waiting for the paramedics, bystanders assisted the man. He was admitted to the hospital with severe but not life-threatening wounds.

Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.

Investigators said neither alcohol nor drugs appears to have been a factor in the collision.

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
