Man Struck and Killed By Van While Riding Motorized Scooter on Arrow Route Near Ilex Street Kills

 
Fontana, CA (August 6, 2020) – On Monday, an 82-year-old man died in a scooter crash on Arrow Route near Ilex Street after being struck by a van.
 
The fatal accident took place at around 1:55 p.m. in the western area of Fontana.
 
California Highway Patrol Officer Jesus Garcia said the crash happened while the victim was crossing the road on a motorized scooter and a white van struck him.
 
Responding units attempted to give the victim life-saving measures; however, the man still died at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.
 
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner will release the deceased’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
Moreover, the driver remained on scene and cooperated with the authorities.
 
Both directions on Arrow Route and Ilex Street were closed due to the crash.
